It's World Mental Health Day on 10 October and to mark this there are a number of mental health organisations hosting events and campaigns that need your help. Get involved in events and projects that will help change people's lives.
One in four people will experience some kind of mental health issue and here at TimeBank we run our own mentoring project, Back to Life. We know there's a real enthusiasm for helping people who experience mental health issues and this project is so popular we have a waiting list.
There are lots of other organisations that need you, so get involved.
Lend your mind for research
Have fun, feel challenged and help Alzheimer's Society with important future research.
Alzheimer's Society has teamed up with the BBC to launch the world's biggest brain training trial, Brain Test Britain. The trial will seek an answer to the question: Does brain training really work? It will also help Alzheimer's Society find out whether brain training reduces the risk of dementia.
To make the trial a success they need volunteers, particularly those over 60, to sign up.
Can you make the test?
Move your way to better mental health
Time to Change's Get Moving week is here with over 300 events taking place all over England. There will be activities such as yoga, caving, historical walks, conservation, football tournaments, wellbeing festivals, and much more besides. 30,000 people are anticipated to dance, walk and even cheerlead their way to better mental wellbeing as well as combat the stigma associated with mental health issues.
