How does it work?

Time Together is a new TimeBank project in the West Midlands, funded by the Henry Smith Charity. The project recruits and trains volunteers to mentor refugees and asylum seekers as they make the transition and settle into UK life.

Over a period of three years, the project aims to train and match 45 volunteers to 45 refugees and asylum seekers. Volunteers will meet with their mentee for approximately five hours each month, for a period of six months.

Support will be practical, working towards a goal set by the mentee. Goals may include learning a new skill, developing a hobby or simply getting involved in the community. For the volunteer this provides an opportunity to learn about issues affecting refugees and asylum seekers in their neighbourhood.

If you’d like to volunteer as a mentor on Time Together, please download the application form below and send it back to us. If you'd like more information, or know someone who would benefit from mentoring, please contact Sian, the project co-ordinator on 07842 811459 or email
