'What If...' is a new campaign to recruit volunteers to help young people in danger of turning to crime, which is run in partnership by TimeBank and the national crime reduction organisation, Crime Concern. Crime Concern runs over 30 youth projects across England and Wales, and volunteers are vital to their work of helping young people make the right choices in life.
Working one-to-one with a young person at risk as a volunteer mentor
Helping at youth projects by working with young people and supporting activity programmes
Acting as a peer drug educator to help educate young people about drugs and substance misuse
Providing administrative or specialist support for projects and regional Crime Concern volunteers are offered appropriate training and given the support they need through their time with Crime Concern.
'What If…' challenges people to question what would have happened if they had made the wrong decision when they were growing up. It also highlights the importance of volunteers who work with young people at risk of getting caught up in crime.
If you are over 21, and can give a few hours a week over the course of a year, then find out where your local project is and register now to begin giving time.
